Ponderosa Promenaders began its journey in June 2010, when a passionate group of individuals came together to share their love for square dancing. Under the guidance of Ralph and Linda Goble, our first 25 students learned the art of square dance from our talented caller, Mark Hammett.
For the first 5 years we danced “Up On The Mountain” at the Livermore Community Hall. Since then, we’ve moved to the Masonic Event Center in Fort Collins and expanded our membership to dancers from Red Feather Lakes, Livermore, Fort Collins, Loveland, Wellington, Johnstown, and Windsor.

Bryan started Square Dancing about 8-years ago and after noticing that callers were beginning to retire, he started training to become a caller. He has now been providing Square Dance lessons for Ponderosa Promenaders for 2-yeas. He also calls squares for non-dancer parties.

Mitchell comes from a family with an extensive background in square dancing, so it was only natural for him to get involved. He did so by learning to square dance and joining the Rocky Mountain Dancers performance group at the young age of 13. He enjoyed squares, but it wasn’t long before he discovered that his real passion was for rounds. Under the tutelage of John Herr, he learned to cue. Two short years later, in 2005, he became a member of Roundalab and started both cueing dances and teaching round dance classes.
