THIS WEEK in the MAPSDC
Sunday December 9. 20108
Not only is Christmas Holiday fast approaching but so is 2019. Oh My, where did this year go anyway.....I know I haven’t danced near as much as I would like in 2018. Hopefully 2019 will bring fewer aches anc pains and more dance floor activity. In the meantime, there are lots of dances going on THIS WEEK.
Beginning on Wednesday the 14th, Hix and Chix will hold their Jingle Bell Rock with Roger Schappell calling and Becky Evans cueing.
Then on Friday the 14th you have 3 choices THIS WEEK!
1. All plus Christmas dance at the Barn Owls in Berthoud. Have you heard that Clare and Erwin have volunteered to keep the doors open in Berthoud for the 2nd and 4th Fridays so we can continue our Plus dancing here in the MAPS area. 7:00 is the first tip with Dave Guille calling THIS WEEK.
2. Oregon Trail Dancers will host their Friday mainstream dance in Gering with Lucky Kochenower calling.
3. In Wiggins at JoAnne’s place you will have “Christmas on the Plains” with Jeff Palmer calling and Mitchell Thompson cueing....what a great linelup!
On Saturday the 15th...Santa Claus is coming to town....in Windsor, Mike Olivieri will call the annual Christmas dance. Foot and Fiddle is inviting all mainstream classes to this dance. Mike has touched base with your class instructors and will call the dance at your level. Dave Smith
will cue and announces that he too has planned his program with lots of phse II waltz and 2 step for all the beginners in the area. So o you students from Greeley and Cheyenne can join his class on Saturday night for a chance to dance what you have learned.
Then on Sunday the 16th, Dave will be calling his last dance for the winter season. Steve Kline will cue. He and Gail will winter in Arizona and return in April for more fun dances in Cheyenne.
On Monday the 17th, the Foot and Fiddler’s class of 2018 will graduate. They will hold a potluck dinner at 6:00 and then dance an graduate their class. Please come out and support the newest dancers in our council area. Life Brdge church Johnstown Annex Office at the corner of Idaho/Jay and Hwy 60 in Johnstown.
Also on Foot and Fiddle’s agenda....a heads up for January. On the 7th FUN-SEEKERS will return for their 8th season of just plain old FUN. All who dance at the mainstream level are welcome to come and let Mike O teach you dancing in a Hexagon formation. All the calls are the same as in a square, you will just learn to dance with 12 in a square instead of 8. Why you ask? First and foremost, just to come out and HAVE SOME FUN, and so that if there are four folks sitting out a tip because there is no square for them, a Hex can be formed so everyone can dance. The more people that learn this the better it is. Besides .... IT IS FUN.
Have a magical week!
