Ridge Runners April 27th dance canceled.

I am sorry to inform everyone that the Ridge Runners have decided to cancel tomorrow's dance. Our Saturday, April 27 forecast keeps looking worse with every new hour. Our caller and cuer, Lanny Weakland would be coming from Nebraska.

Welcome to the webpage of the Peach Promenade, our annual celebration honoring Palisade peaches, the world’s best.  We come together from across the western slope of Colorado and beyond to share the fun of square and round dancing to the preeminent calling and cuing of nationally recognized talent.

Begun in 1969 as the “Peach Festival”, the dance is held every year on the 4th Friday and Saturday of August.  Now called the Peach Promenade, the event was held at the Mt. Garfield Middle School gym in Clifton, CO since 1984.

To address air conditioning problems, this year we are moving to a new home – the Grand Mesa Middle School.  Grand Mesa has even more parking, an outstanding wood dance floor in the gym and a brighter, more accessible cafeteria for drinks and our silent auction.  In the evenings, we still provide those fresh, ripe Palisade peaches to eat for free!

The Peach Promenade is the primary fundraiser for our Council, the coordinating body of square and round dance clubs across western Colorado.  The Council promotes square and round dancing throughout our area and serves as a bridge to the many other clubs and councils across Colorado and the nation.

Every summer, come join us as we celebrate those delicious Palisade peaches and you’ll see that our dance truly is “fun and friendship set to music”.
